Our 2DOF motion platforms consist of a base (upper platform) that is mounted on motors, which are used to control the movements of the platform. The motors are controlled by a motion controller, which receives signals from the control system (computer) to generate the desired motion.

S 3DOF MOTION PLATFORMS PROVIDE PITCH AND ROLL ROTATIONS AS WELL AS A SEMI HEAVE TRANSLATION

MFS revolutionizes motion platform design with its innovative software and engineering (platform geometry and use of stronger motors), allowing for the simulation of heave with just two motors. Typically, a motion platform that wants to incorporate heave along with pitch and roll movements requires three motors. However, MFS’s unique approach, referred to as SEMI HEAVE, makes it possible to achieve this perception with only two.

Among other optimizations, the S3DOF software features what is known as “high pass emulated heave·, which captures many of the key high frequency “heave” channel cues and injects them into the simulation through the pitch channel. The end result is a 2DOF (S3DOF) motion system which can compete with many 3DOF available on the market at a fraction of the cost : namely, our MFS S3DOF MOTION PLATFORM.

The advantage of this system is its cost-effectiveness, as it is less expensive than a full-fledged 3DOF platform.
